The Lord Jesus encouraged my heart with this song last night, Trust His Heart. So I thought I would share it with you. For, life doesn't always make sense to us. https://youtu.be/XWk8DRwDYDc

Do Not Look Back
Beth said, “So, we can LEARN from our past, BUT we should not camp there. We must MOVE forward. If we choose to live in our past –we will not grow into what we were meant to become.” Amen!
We often look back on memories of our past.
We may re-live our positive memories with fondness and perhaps long for those days. The negative experiences, on the other hand, can take a more disturbing residence in our minds. Like a loop tape, they play over in our minds to the point of wishing we could change a certain time span, as you see in sci-fi movies. Or they are buried deep into our memory bank and we throw away the key. A simple moment may have changed the direction of our lives.
As far as negative experiences in our past, I have heard it said, “Your past does not dictate your future.” In other words, whatever happened in your past that was negative should not dictate the ability to live the rest of life with hope and promise. Yet, many people use heartache from their past to excuse their…

I Gotta Say,
Amy’s poem lets us know that the Christian life is a battle, for we have an enemy who is always fighting to get us back, and so we have to fight off his lies with the armor of God.

I thought I’d ran you away
Until you showed up that day
Like you’d never been gone
Like it hadn’t been so long
With your gripping tools in hand
Stealing my ticking grains of sand
I forgot what you felt like, fear
Until you shouted lies again in my ear!
You’re a spirit straight from hell
Who’s design is to drain my well
But you can’t mess with the King’s daughter!
Out of my belly flows rivers of living water!

Don’t Let My Death…
We all go through stuff in this life. We all have had our failures and our successes. Sometimes our failures can be overwhelming for us, and we may beat ourselves up over them. That accomplishes nothing. But, rather than just forgetting them and moving forward, which we need to do, we need to learn from … Continue reading Don’t Let My Death…
The “Be (or “Not Be-) Attitudes – the Road to True Happiness, Part 2
Ann does a wonderful job here of presenting to us right and wrong attitudes about the circumstances of our lives, whatever they may be.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – Jesus (John 10:10)
Last week I started to share with you what the “Beatitudes” say about finding true happiness. The word “Happiness” may be misleading, however, because these days what the world sees as “happiness” can be obtained through…

Missionary/Pastor to Pastors – Why Is It Needed?
Pastor Matthew has begun a new blog, Wounded Yet Healed. And, he has begun a new ministry to minister to the needs of pastors of churches. Pastors get wounded and they need to be encouraged, too. Thank you, Matthew, for listening to the Lord, and for reaching out to help meet the emotional and spiritual needs of pastors.

In October 2018, I began reaching out to pastors. I was coming out of a season of burnout and depression after giving nearly two years to the church I started. Because of that, I knew other pastors and ministry leaders were experiencing what I was on varying levels. I didn’t want them to walk the road alone, so I started sending messages to the ones I knew, asking them how I could pray for them. The responses confirmed what I already knew. In my heart, I knew I wanted to minister to those in ministry.
Why would this be a necessary ministry? Don’t pastors and Christian leaders have homies they hang with all the time (gotta love the word choice😂)? Often, the answer is no. Ministry leaders are often competitive and are out to…

TRUST
This is very good on the subject of suffering and trust in God.
Have you ever wished God would just plonk down on the end of your bed and give you a straight answer to whatever your heart is wrestling with? Have you ever wished that God would give you a five-year plan so that you could know the right choices to make, when to say Yes or No, when to stay put and when to walk away? Yeah?! Me too.
Don’t get me wrong, I do feel God’s presence and I see God’s goodness in so much. I get to witness his provision and protection over my family and me in the most incredible ways. I’ve seen friends make 60-mile journeys on an empty tank and with a dead battery. I’ve heard of cheques being posted through the door, for exact amounts needed, at the right time. I have had encounters where I’ve bumped into the right person and a conversation has…

Lipstick on a Pig
Very effective analogy regarding sinful habits and covering them up with lipstick.
Have you ever seen a photo (a real one) of a pig with lipstick on? If you have, you know that it just looks bizarre. We all can agree on one thing, you just don’t want to put lipstick on a pig.
You know though, it is something we do all the time. There are things, habits, in each of our lives that need to be dealt with. We need to change them, stop them, do something different, but instead of doing what we need to, we just accept them, put a little lipstick on them and keep on going.
For instance, do we harbor some ill will towards someone? Instead of forgiving them and moving on, we just secretly hold on to it and make excuses for it. Do we take pleasure in gossip about someone we are jealous of? If so, we are enjoying our pet pig and…

Lifting our Burdens
Caught in Sin Galatians 6:1 ESV “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted." Who is this referring to? It is speaking of our fellow believers in Jesus Christ. If any one of our … Continue reading Lifting our Burdens
