Conquering Sinful Addictions

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. I hear so many Christians say that they don’t know how to conquer their sinful addictions. They act as though Jesus didn’t already conquer their sins, and as though Satan still has power over them. They act as though they are doomed to “struggle” with sinful addiction the rest of their lives, too. But “struggle” for them often means regularly giving in, and consistently failing.

But, is that the life that Jesus gave us in Him? No! Does…
