To My Beloved Husband
I love you, Love, with all my heart,
Remembering when we got our start,
We did not want to be apart,
So vows we made, and there we parked.
Remembering where we first did live,
How to each other we did give,
Enjoyed each other, time to share
For every moment we could spare.
Had our first child, and he was great!
We did not now have many dates.
A family now, from two to three,
We welcomed him with jubilee!
And then came two, a daughter she,
Made room for her, our hearts with glee.
She had dark eyes, and dark brown hair,
We gave her lots of tender care.
Two children now, enjoyed them both,
We nurtured them and watched them grow.
And three came next. We did invest
In his good care, just like the rest.
And then came four, another boy.
Now raising four we did enjoy.
All four we loved, were our delight,
So thankful for them, that is right!
Now here we are, our senior years,
We made it, Love, through cheers and tears.
The finish line, we’re not there yet,
But I, for one, have NO REGRETS!
I loved you then, I love you now,
My love to you I still avow,
I hope we have a few more years,
Including laughs, and hugs, no fears.

*I wrote this poem to my husband in the middle of the night and left it out for him to read when he got up this morning. And he had a very positive response to it. This is the only location on the internet where I am sharing this, and only because it fits with what this blog was originally about. So this is kind of an update of where we are now and for the purpose to encourage all of you who may have troubled marriage relationships that, by the grace of God, you can make it, and you can keep loving, and keep hoping, and not give up. We can love without fear. We are not at the finish line yet. Amen!
Love this Sue! Happy Valentines Day!
